The incumbent MP for Norton Temba Mliswa who is is also gunning to retain his seat has threatened to relieve former First Lady Grace Mugabe of her multiple farms if he wins the Norton seat.
Mliswa charged that Grace owned 5 farms in the Norton area a scenario that is not in keeping with the spirit of the land reform.
“They are many youths that also need land to utilise and a land audit is coming. Grace has 5 farms in this area and that is not allowed according to the one man one farm system.
“After I win I’m going to make sure that those farms are distributed among the youths who also need land,” he said.
Grace had become infamous for abuse of state institutions to safeguard her personal interests and used soldiers to kick out villager at one of her farms in Mazowe.
Mliswa who is up against MDC Alliance’s Samuel Matemera, ZIPP’s Muchemwa and ZANU PF’S Chris Mutsvangwa has consistently attacked parties for corrupt tendencies and has been on record saying he won’t return to ZANU PF alleging corrupt tendencies.
“I’m doing much more whilst outside since with my frankness I will be booted out if I join a party , they don’t want people who say the truth,” he added.
The Norton seat is turning out to be plain sailing for Mliswa as his opponents have struggled to gather people due to varying reasons.
Mutsvangwa’s history for political histrionics that saw him taking away an ambulance, television and generator he had donated whilst also removing boreholes he had drilled after losing has him on the wrong side with the electorate.
The MDC Alliance has also suffered a still birth in the small town as their rallies have struggled to have crowds.
