Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Kazembe Kazembe has appointed the ZimPost Board and added board members to NetOne Cellular and Potraz boards.
The youthful minister said the appointments have been authorized by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and they are with effect from 1 June and have tenure of 4 years.
Announcing the appointments at a press conference Minister Kazembe said “I am pleased to advise that His Excellency the President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has authorized me to appoint the following as directors of ZimPost Board.
“Kainet Moyo (Chairperson), Mike Eric Juru (Vice Chairman), Andrew Matiza, Newman Nyamhuri, Chipo Boka Nyakudya and Sibongile Moyo,” he said.
Kazembe also announced the appointment of Keuemetsi Setoboli Mpandawana and Sibonile Dhliwayo to the NetOne Cellular Private Limited Board and Dr Thomas Utete-Ushe to the Potraz Board.
Turning to the ZimPost, Minister Kazembe said the board members face a daunting task of turning the struggling parastatal around.
“For the ZimPost board, I do not envy you I am sorry yes we expect a complete turnaround of ZimPost currently they are facing challenges I know they have great ideas.
“I was speaking to the management recently Chief Moyo they have great ideas, we hope and trust you are going to assist them by giving them direction.
“Your mandate is not enviable I want to be very honest but I hope and trust that the people we have here can turnaround ZimPost,” he said.
