Resident petitions High Court over Rock Foundation COVID-19 clinic

Harare resident Roger Stringer has reportedly petitioned the High Court of Zimbabwe over the setting up of a COVID-19 clinic at Rock Foundation Medical Centre, saying the move could expose his family to the deadly virus that claimed many lives across the world.

According to Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, Stringer believes that his family is at greater risk of contracting COVID-19 if the facility is established in his suburb (Mount Pleasant).

Rock Foundation Medical Centre used to belong to jailed for Zanu PF legislator Munyaradzi Kereke and is being refurbished by Kuda Tagwirei of Sakunda Holdings to accommodate COVID-19 patients.

A days ago, word circulated on social media that the medical centre was being refurbished to serve top governmental officials only in case they contract the highly contagious COVID-19 virus which has ravaged the world killing many people.

However, it could not be established why Mr stringer had not complained when the medical centre was first established in the suburb, choosing to complain now.
