By Nyasha Mukapiko
13 opposition political parties drawn from the National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA) and the Coalition of Democrats (CODE) are eyeing for a coalition ahead of the 2018 general election to challenge the Zanu-PF party led by President Robert Mugabe that has been in rule for 36 years.
The opposition political parties met in Cape Town South Africa for four days beginning on the 28th of November 2016. Morgan Tsvangirai leader of the MDC-T and Joice Mujuru of Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF) are believed to have snubbed the talks though being invited.
Dr Simba Makoni of Mavambo Kusile Dawn who was accompanied by Farai Mbira of Zunde on Friday presented the joint statement on behalf of the 13 political parties during a media briefing.
